Custom Bag Charm (It’s Easier Than You Think!)

Custom Bag Charm (It’s Easier Than You Think!)

Looking for a fun, creative project to try with your 3D pen? Here's a simple and adorable idea: make your own custom bag charm—a perfect way to add personality to your backpack, purse, or pencil case!

In this quick tutorial, we’ll show you how to turn your sketch into a 3D-printed bag accessory using just a few materials. Great for kids, teens, or anyone who loves hands-on DIY fun!

🧰 What You’ll Need:

  1. A 3D printing pen (we recommend using low-temp PCL filament, especially for kids!) . We use Uni3D Jr It's safe for kids, using low-temp PCL filament.
  2. A sheet of paper
  3. A pencil or marker
  4. Your imagination!
  5. Optional: a key ring or small carabiner to attach the charm

✨ Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Sketch Your Charm

Start by drawing a small character face, animal, or emoji—anything you love! Keep it simple so it’s easier to trace with your 3D pen.

2. Trace with Your 3D Pen

Use your 3D pen to carefully trace over the drawing. This will become the main charm piece (the “head”).

3. Draw a Hanger

Next, draw a small loop or string shape with the pen. This part will connect your charm to your bag.

4. Connect One End

Attach one end of the loop to the top of your charm. You can use the pen to weld the plastic together.

5. Attach to Your Bag

Now place the charm where you want it on your bag. Thread the open end of the loop through a zipper pull or handle.

6. Seal the Loop

Use your 3D pen to close the other end of the loop—right on the bag! Be careful not to damage the fabric.

🎉 That’s It—Your DIY Bag Charm Is Done!

Now you’ve got a one-of-a-kind accessory that shows off your personality—and your creativity. Whether you make one or a whole collection, these 3D-printed charms are fun to design, easy to make, and perfect for gifting too.
