Let’s Roll! Create Mini 3D Sushi Art with Your Uni3D Pen

Who says sushi is only for eating? With the Uni3D Pen and some colorful PLA filament, you can create your own mini sushi set—perfect as desk decor, toy food for dolls, or just a fun creative project. This is an ideal build for kids who enjoy pretend play or want to explore different cultures through hands-on crafting.

Start by choosing your sushi types. For beginners, simple maki rolls, nigiri, and tamago (egg sushi) are perfect. For a maki roll, draw a small black cylinder (seaweed) about 2 cm wide and 1 cm tall. Fill in the top with tiny dots of red, green, yellow, and white to represent tuna, avocado, egg, and rice. Use your pen to round and layer each color for a realistic texture.

To make nigiri, start with an oval-shaped white base for the rice. Add a layer of salmon or shrimp on top using orange or pink filament. Add fine lines or light color shading to make it pop, and top with a thin black strip as seaweed if needed.

For tamago, draw a small yellow rectangle for the egg, then place it on a rice base and “wrap” it with a black seaweed strip. You can also make wasabi or soy sauce blobs just for fun!

Once you’ve made 2–3 pieces, group them together on a tiny 3D printed plate or bamboo mat (drawn with brown filament). These miniatures are full of charm and can be turned into magnets, keychains, or even classroom displays.
