Make a Meaningful Graduation Gift

Make a Meaningful Graduation Gift

What Do You Need

  • 3D Printing Pen (We use Uni3D StD in this project)
  • PLA filament: black, white, yellow
  • Pencil (for shaping the square)
  • Flat surface (glass, acrylic, or silicone mat)
  • Scissors (optional for cleanup)

Step: 1. Draw and fill a square for the cap top
Use black filament to draw a square (approx. 4×4 cm) and fill it in completely to create a solid cap top.

Step: 2. Add center details

After filling the square, draw diagonal lines from each corner to the center using black filament. Then build a small raised dot in the center—this will later hold the tassel. The diagonal lines help reinforce the top and make the structure look more defined.

Step: 3. Make for trapezoid panels for the cap sides.
Each trapezoid should be: top 2 cm, bottom 3 cm, height 2.2 cm. These form the sides of the cap. Use the 3D pen to join the four trapezoid panels into a square shape that forms the base of the cap.

Step: 4. Attach the base to the cap top
Line up the cap base under the 4×4 cm square and use black filament to secure all sides.

Step: 5. Create the tassel using white filament
Draw severl 3D  thin strands (about 2 cm long), tie or twist them together, and attach them to the center button.

Step: 6. Make a mini diploma scroll
Wrap white filament around a pencil or pen to shape a scroll. Then draw a bow using yellow filament and wrap it around the scroll.

Step: 7. Your graduation gift is ready!
A handmade 3D pen cap and diploma—small in size, big on meaning. Perfect as a heartfelt gift or personal keepsake.
